Any home brewer wanting an honest assessment of their brew can have their curiosity answered. By entering a bottle of their favourite brew in the HOME BREW SECTION of the Dubbo Show they will receive an honest assessment of the quality of their entry.

An expert panel of 3 judges tastes each entry and assesses it for aroma, appearance, flavour and mouth feel. From points awarded, the entries are ranked in order of their score in 8 different classes, ranging from light beer to heavier styles such as stout. In addition to ribbons and certificates, substantial prizes to 1st and 2nd placegetters are awarded.

From its origins in 2003 (NOTE: I’m not sure of the year) the Home Brew Section has evolved into a competition which is highly regarded by enthusiastic home brewers. Entries usually number about 40, and are mainly drawn from towns in the central west of the state.

Entries from new exhibitors are most welcome and will be greatly appreciated by stewards and judges. Interested or intending competitors are encouraged to seek further information from the Home Brew Steward.
